Lake Rangeley Maine, Spring 2009

We went up to Lake Rangeley Maine, a tourist area, to see moose in the spring or 2009. The lake was beautiful and there were plenty of young moose, with the young males just getting their horns growing. We were surprised to see so many wildflowers. The lupine, mostly purple and blue though there were plenty of white and red ones, were profuse.
Great sunset

A young male
This one looked like he was annoyed with our staring.

There were many irises, mostly dwarf.

Comical look with the tongue hanging out.

Got a rainbow to admire in the afternoon
A smaller grouping of lupine and other wildflowers

We found these large fields of lupine near a golf course.

More moose. We saw 23 moose in Maine and at least one in New Hampshire and Vermont
