Bar Harbor/Acadia NP, Spring 2009

It rained most of the time when were at Acadia NP in the Spring of 2009. We had been extraordinarily lucky a couple of years ago when we had beautiful weather. Took some photos of the rocky seashore shrouded in fog and we spent plenty of time enjoying the wildflower garden inside the park. (click on photos to enlarge.)

A rare orchid

The Nova Scotia Ferry leaving in the morning from Bar Harbor.

A foggy morning at low tide (note pier height in a part of the country that experiences extreme tides.)

Lots of small islands on the Maine coast can be seen from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia NP.
This water falls along side of the road exists only when it rains.

The first and fifth photos here also have some of the colors we would like to see on our walls and in our rooms.
